We’re bringing our revolutionary framework for thoughtfully reimagining traditions to the Fourth of July.

New Rules: July 4th is a workshop designed to help you develop meaningful actions and rituals to engage with the joyful but complicated holiday marking the founding of the United States.

The United States of America’s Independence Day is approaching. You may be used to observing the day in a particular way — perhaps attending a parade, having a cookout; or you may not celebrate this holiday very much because you are troubled by America’s history or its present. Either way, do you feel you are marking the day in a way that moves your values forward, in a way best calculated to help you put your feelings about America into action?

Just as Judaism Unbound has been dedicated to catalyzing the re-imagination of Jewish holidays and practices in order to better calibrate them to the values and aspirations of contemporary Jews, we believe the approach we are developing can be just as valuable in other contexts in which the “traditional” way to mark a certain important day has become disconnected from our deepest commitments and passions.

Join us for a workshop that will help you explore the story of America you most want to tell every year and translate that story into the design of rituals and practices that turn your strongest feelings into powerful actions.
