12 weeks

Wednesdays: 3-4:30 pm ET / Noon-1:30 pm PT / 8-9:30 pm UK, beginning October 4th

Do you want to feel more confident making Jewishly-rooted ritual? Do you want to find authentic and innovative ways to mark moments that matter? Did you know that Jewish people have many customs and rituals that you cannot find in classical sacred texts, but can find in this UnYeshiva course?

In this course we will explore Jewish ritual-craft,- expanding our awareness of what has existed, and building our own skills in making ritual and ceremony. We will look at rituals around birth, death, protection, life-transition (of many kinds), and the parts of the cycle of the Jewish year. We will learn from sacred texts, folklore and anthropology, and each other. Students will be given time and space to be inspired by what we learn, create rituals for themselves, and reflect with one another about the impact of their work.

Sliding Scale

This course is available at a sliding scale cost of $499 (the true cost), $399 or $299.

If you can afford the full price, we hope you will choose that option, which allows us to continue to offer lower rates and scholarships to those who otherwise would not be able to access this learning because of financial barriers.

Financial Aid

If you need financial aid beyond the sliding scale, please fill out this simple form, and we will get right back to you.

**Please register each student separately. Your registrations will appear in your shopping cart and you may pay for multiple students together at checkout**

About Rachel

Rachel Rose Reid (she/her) is based in London, England. Her work as a writer, storyteller, ritualist, and kohenet is bound together by her love of shaking the dust from old narratives and lost histories – so that we can find healing and new visions  in the present. She specialises in making life cycle rituals for unconventional Jewish folk, including weddings, blessings, and grief and remembrance ceremonies. Rachel is co-founder of Yelala, a constellation of projects that enables Jewish people and allies to learn from Jewish women/femme/folk ancestors, through online learning, in-person retreats, and weekly opportunities for devotion through song. She has been a facilitator for Wilderness Torah, the Sadeh (England’s only Jewish environmental and farming community), and Limmud International. As an award-winning artist she has worked with Billy Bragg, BBC Radio and the London Symphony Orchestra.
