From October 27 through November 8, 2026, 11 Jewish artists from across the United States come together across geography, generation, medium, and identity, to imagine and wrestle with future visions of American Jewish life in 2070––two thousand years after the fall of the Second Temple. Drawing their own questions and hopes of Jewish futures alongside speculative art, strategic foresight frameworks, and Jewish rituals and texts, the artists work in soft, gathered, and digitized materials to imagine textures of Jewish community, ritual, identity, diaspora, and belonging nearly 50 years from now.

In this class, we will dive into the 70 Seeds Digital Exhibition––using the questions posed and ideas embedded in these artistic works as starting points for our own questions and ideas of futures of American Jewish life. We will draw from Jewish (and “jewish”) texts and rituals, other futurist traditions, as well as signals of change and emergence in the world around us. At a moment when much of the public conversation around Jewish futures is fear or survival-oriented, we hope this class––and the exhibition itself––will create a space to imagine Jewish and collective thriving through art and storytelling.

This class is not eligible for rabbinical school credit.

Cost

This course is available at a sliding scale cost of $269 (the true cost), $225 or $179.

About Ami

Ami Weintraub (he/they) is a rabbi ordained through the Aleph Ordination Program, as part of the Renewal movement. Ami studies trance, earth based Judaism, Yiddish, and the history of magic from marginalized voices within Jewish Ashkenaz. Ami currently works as the Rabbinic Director for the independent Hebrew School, Fig Tree, in Brooklyn. He is the consultant for Liberatory Jewish Education and Practice for Achvat Olam, a fledgling diasporist Jewish day school in Boston. Ami is the founder and former director of Ratzon: Center for Healing and Resistance, a queer, Jewish, Anarchist community center in Pittsburgh, PA. In addition, Ami is the author of, “To The Ghosts Who Are Still Living,” a book of personal essays on the legacy of facism and his relationship to his ancestors’ lands in Eastern Europe. Ami’s writing and art has also appeared in other Jewish, anti-facist anthologies. In his free time, Ami likes walking in the forest and singing with friends.
