What is the shape of Jewish time? When we look into the future, where are we looking and what do we see? Through the lenses of philosophy, Talmud, and our own deep Torah, we will explore these questions together. Whether predicting the Messiah, envisioning the flow of our tradition, or making sense of History, Jews have always had a deep interest in and practice of travelling through time. Sometimes literally, sometimes metaphorically, but always beautifully, these journeys have been recorded in our rich textual tradition. Join Rabbi Xava De Cordova as we dive into the vision of Rabbi Akiva, Walter Benjamin, and much, much more. No Hebrew knowledge is required, all you need is a curious spirit and your own brilliant insight!

Xava De Cordova (she/her) is a disabled, Sefradi, Mizraxi trans woman and co-host of the world's first Queer Talmud podcast, "Xai, how are you?". She is a long-time SVARA-style Talmud learner and SVARA teaching kollel fellow who got her start as a teacher by creating Beit Midrash Behind Bars, an organization that facilitated Jewish learning opportunities for incarcerated people in Washington State. She is also the co-Rosh Yeshiva of Shel Maala, which she co-founded with her incredible co-Rosh, Binya. She lives in Providence, RI, where she plays with her Corgi, writes halakhic literature, and does her best to steward the radical tradition she's been blessed to inherit.
