Genesis: Peoplehood and Solidarity in Bereshit

from $239.00

with Amanda Mbuvi

When
Tuesdays · 8 weeks · Starts March 24
3:00-4:30 pm Eastern Time/12:00-1:30 pm Pacific Time

Genesis includes many of the Torah’s most famous stories, but in many ways, it remains a strange book. The people Israel arrive late to their own story and then emerge very gradually while the book lingers on the in-between—the space where old identities are shed and new identities emerge. This course will explore the book of Genesis, examining the interplay of its disparate parts and the book’s implications for how we think about identity, difference, and peoplehood.

This class will be recorded and available to enrolled students to watch later.

This class is not eligible for rabbinical school credit.

Cost

This course is available at a sliding scale cost of $359 (the true cost), $299 or $239.

If you can afford the full price, we hope you will choose that option, which allows us to continue to offer lower rates and scholarships to those who otherwise would not be able to access this learning because of financial barriers.

Click here to donate to JUs financial aid fund to support financial equity and access to education for all students.
