Judaism Unbound Episode 520: Jewish Placemaking (Makom) - Beverly Socher-Lerner

What is Jewish placemaking, and why might it matter to the present and future of Jewish education? Beverly Socher-Lerner, founder and executive director of Makom Community in Philadelphia, joins Dan and Lex to explore that question. This episode is the second in a mini-series exploring Jewish education, following up on a recent Judaism Unbound episode featuring Leah Robbins, founder of Achvat Olam Community Day School.

[3] The philosophy of Jewish Placemaking is a key piece of this episode, and of Makom’s work — learn more about it here.

[4] Socher-Lerner references a prayer book called Eit Ratzon, which her students use. Learn more about it, and its creator (Joe Rosenstein), here.
